1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site, independently operated and unaffiliated with government. We do not keep official criminal records, obtain official reports for visitors, perform official checks, or submit legal documents on anyone’s behalf.

Instead, the website identifies North Carolina record custodians: the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), Criminal Information and Identification Section (CIIS), the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction (NCDAC), the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry, state courts, and sheriffs and courts in all 100 counties. It may also connect visitors with third-party research tools. The North Carolina Public Records Law, Chapter 132, applies to government records, not to this private website’s content.

2. Rules for Using This Site

As a condition of use, you agree not to:

• Use bots, scrapers, or other automated tools against the website
• Attempt unauthorized entry into any system or restricted area
• Use content to stalk, threaten, or harass another person

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

The North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry is provided for public awareness and safety. Its acceptable-use policy warns that threatening, stalking, intimidating, or harassing a registrant can lead to prosecution. Registry information is not a basis for vigilantism, employment blacklisting, or housing discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create credit reports, background checks, or any other consumer report. Our services and those of our advertising partners are not designed to screen applicants, evaluate rental requests, set insurance rates, or assess creditworthiness. You must not use website or linked-tool data to:

• Evaluate creditworthiness or establish insurance premiums
• Choose whether to hire, retain, or dismiss a worker
• Review a prospective tenant or housing applicant
• Determine eligibility for a license, permit, or government benefit
• Carry out any other activity regulated by the FCRA
